Eric Kripke and the rest of the producers really thought the show was going to be renewed. Back in March while shooting episode 21 Eric Kripke visited the set and he told everyone that it was looking good for renewal. A few weeks later someone from NBC visited the set out at Spiderwood Studio. Afterwards Charles Beeson who is both a producer and a director told some people that he thought the show would be renewed. They did not find out the show was cancelled until two days before the announcement by the network. There was a meeting in L.A. where while I don't know the details I was told the next day that it went very bad. Until then I really thought the show would be renewed but after that I knew cancellation was coming.

Yeah here's my question. How can the show end like this? There is so much they can continue with, easily two more seasons if not more. Stupid NBC canceling the best show I've seen on television and along time. Cancel the good stuff and keep the reality crap, yeah that makes sense
